Welcome to Mitchell Tubbs [dot] Space, my personal playground on the web! Thank you for taking the time to stop by and read the latest of what’s going on in my little corner of the universe.
I’ve been an amateur astronomer for almost my whole life. I know that I’ve had a deep fascination of the cosmos since I was around 7 years old. Now, over 25 years later, I have dedicated a large portion of my time to studying space, and teaching others what I know. I volunteer with my local astronomy club and take my equipment to local star parties where I can personally engage hundreds of people every month and give a small personal tour of the sky.
I also do astrophotography. My current setup includes a Paramount MyT which carries my StellarVue SV105T and a variety of cameras. I keep it housed in a SkyShed Pod in my back yard and when the skies permit, I’m out trying my hand at astrophotogrpahy.
I’ve had a blast doing planetary photography over the last two years, and I’m excited for 2015, which is when I plan on refreshing some of my equipment to allow for deep sky observations and photography. My YouTube channel is where I feature video tutorials of how to use equipment for general astronomy, or astrophotography. I also plan to make short video lessons that answer subscriber questions about space, astronomy or astrophotography. So if, like me, you have an unquenchable thirst for learning about the heavens then take the time to subscribe to the blog and follow me on your favorite social networking site!
